Margaret Salley Ray, 85, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at her home . Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Tim McCarter officiating. Interment will be in Old Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Ray was born September 10, 1929, in MS to Jim and Myrtle (Wright) Salley. She married Clayton Arvel Ray on July 13, 1946. She was employed by Baxter for many years and left in 1968 to be a homemaker. She always took care of others by putting them first. She loved sewing, crocheting, and working puzzles. She was also a great cook. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family. She was preceded by her husband, Clayton Arvel Ray and great-granddaughter, Robin Leah Wilkerson. Mrs. Ray is survived by two daughters, Bettye Ray McCool of Cleveland, MS, and Freda Ray Lovitt of Cordova, TN; granddaughters, Anna Margaret Overstreet (Paul) of Cleveland, MS and Margaret Ann Wilkerson (Robert) of Forrest City, AR; great-granddaughter, Hannah Taylor of Cleveland, MS; and great-grandsons, Hunter Taylor of Cleveland, MS and Parker Hood of Forrest City, AR.
