Margaret Tarver Litton

Mrs. Margaret Tarver Litton, 89, of Shaw passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, at her son James' home. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery. Mrs. Litton was born in Longshot, MS, on July 31, 1927, to Harry Columbus Tarver and Bertie Drunette Johnson Tarver. On October 28, 1945, she married William Wesley Litton in Cleveland, MS. She was a member of Church of Christ, and she worked at Mississippi Ceramic Tile until 1990 when she retired. Mrs. Litton was skilled at cooking and canning foods, enjoyed fishing and gardening, and was a strong willed woman who always ran the show. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Wesley Litton; daughter, Paula Litton; son, Joe Litton; grandchild, Johnny McClain Vance; parents, Harry Columbus Tarver and Bertie Drunette Johnson; sister, Louise Chavis; and brothers, James Tarver, Alton Tarver, and Bud Tarver. Mrs. Litton is survived by her sons, Clyde McClain of Shaw, James Litton (Gerda) of Litton, Ertice Litton (Jennifer) of Ohio; daughter, Bertie Sue Sullivan (David) of Benoit; brothers, Joe Tarver of Byram, Carl Tarver (Dot) of Cleveland, Hilton Tarver (Glenda) of Shaw, and Bobby Tarver (Anita) of Inverness; daughter-in-law, Celeste Malatesta of Shelby; grandchildren, David McClain, Danny McClain (Cassie), Clyde McClain, Jr., Gina Langston, Teresa Nichols (Keith), Bianca Bordelon (Trey), James Litton, II (Ashley), Jamey Litton (Memrie), April Wall (Victor), Tuesday DeBra, Wendi Slocum (Kevin), E.J. Litton, Suzanne Herbert (David), David Sullivan, II (Mary), Wesley Sullivan (Rayanne), Earl Litton (Charlotte), Joel Litton, and Pamela Wostarek; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
