Mary Elizabeth Robinson

Mary Elizabeth Robinson was born on October 28, 1951, to James Elbert Robinson, Sr. and Virginia Roncali Robinson.  She passed away on January 31, 2023.  Visitation will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at Ray Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.  A reception will follow at Jobe Hall at Delta State University. 

 Libby, as she was known to family and friends, attended Skene Public School.  She was a loving sister to brothers James and Peter.   Libby loved to read and write letters to her friends on a weekly basis.  She enjoyed watching her “stories” and shopping.  She also loved animals.

 Libby’s faith was very important to her.  She attended Skene Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.  Along with her Mother, Libby loved to do volunteer work.  They regularly assisted nursing home residents and patients at the local hospital.

 Libby was loyal to family and friends.  Despite her health challenges in recent years, she was not to be underestimated.  She was small, but she was fierce.

 Her family wishes to thank all of the caretakers who have worked with her over the last few years. 

 Heaven will be a happier place with Libby there, but she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

 Libby is preceded in death by her father, James E. Robinson, Sr., and her mother, Virginia Roncali Robinson.  She is survived by her brothers, Dr. James E. Robinson, Jr., of Cleveland and Dr. Peter E. Robinson of Jacksonville, Alabama.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Judy Robinson, her niece, Lisa Robinson, and several cousins.

The family would be honored for donations to be made in Libby’s name to Skene Baptist Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a favorite charity.
