Mary Morgan, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2024, in Brandon, Mississippi, at the age of 91. A visitation will be held on December 28, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Interment will be at New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mary was born on August 21, 1933, to J.O. Sr. & Estelle Womack in Oak Grove, Louisiana. She married Billy Morgan on March 24, 1954, in Memphis, TN.
Mary dedicated over 30 years to her role as a quality inspector at Baxter’s. An alumnus of Pioneer High School, Mary pursued further education at Northeast Community College and then Delta State Teachers College, now known as Delta State University, where she earned an associate degree. This commitment to learning reflected her belief in the importance of education and personal growth.
In her community, Mary was an active participant as a Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist Church, embodying her deep-seated faith and dedication to nurturing the spiritual lives of others. She found joy in sharing her love for the Lord and guiding many through their spiritual journeys.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J.O. Sr. and Estelle Womack; husband, Billy Morgan; brother, Jo Womack Jr.; sister-in-law, Lylas Womack; and beloved grandchildren, Josh Hancock and Shelby Morgan Bell. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart, and her memory of them will remain strong in the lives of those she leaves behind.
Mary was especially proud of her family. She is survived by her son, Randy Morgan (Karen) of Florence, MS; daughter, Shirley (Mike) Sammut of Michigan; sister, Myra (Lester) Myers; grandchildren, Jessica Landino and Kelsey Sullivan; and great-grandson, Wesley Sullivan. Her legacy will live on through them, as they carry forward the values of love and devotion that she instilled in their lives.
Mary's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be dearly missed. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and an indomitable spirit that those who knew her will carry forward with great love and respect.
