Mrs. Mary Frances Horton Steed, 84, of Vicksburg, formerly of Cleveland, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, at Heritage House Retirement Community. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home.
Services immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, with Bro. Chad Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Mrs. Steed was born May 16, 1929, to Monroe Wilkerson Horton and Kate Fulcher Horton in Webster County, Mississippi. Mrs. Steed worked as a cashier for Country Kitchen for twenty years and for Shop-A-Minute for 8 years. She was a member of Wilderness Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Kay Campbell; parents, Monroe and Kate Horton; and brothers, Wesley Owen Horton, James Robert Horton, William "Bill" Monroe Horton, and Bobby Hugh Horton.
Mrs. Steed is survived by son, Ricky Lamar Steed (Gail) of Vicksburg; grandsons, Ricky Campbell of Cleveland and Jordan Steed of Vicksburg; and a host of beloved family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Chris Horton, Kevin Horton, Ricky Campbell, Charlie Campbell, Charles Cutts, and Gale Campbell.
