Maxine Franklin

Mrs. Maxine Hinchey Franklin, 81, of Shelby, MS passed away at University Medical Center, Friday, August 5, 2011. Visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Shelby, MS from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.. Celebration of life service will be Monday, August 8, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Shelby, MS at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Jimmy Breland officiating. Burial will follow services in Shelby Cemetery.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Marked Tree, AR to Oscar Lee Hinchey and Ethie Moody Clark on October 2, 1929. She married Howard Aubrey Franklin, May 29, 1949 in Micola, MO. She had a passion for the game of golf and loved to play. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and painting.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Aubrey Franklin of Shelby, MS; children, Michael D. Franklin of Gunnison, MS (Nancy) and Beverly Hicks of Rockledge, FL (Danny); grandchildren, Nicole Franklin of Atlanta, GA, Melissa Franklin of Charleston, SC, Carrie Franklin of Gulfport, MS and Graham Franklin Hicks of Rockledge, FL.
