Melanie Elaine Miller

Ms. Melanie Elaine Miller, 59, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, in Drew. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home.  A Memorial Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Richardson officiating.
Melanie was born in Leachville, AR, on August 10, 1959, to J. C. Miller, Jr. and Elaine Vaughn Miller.  She worked for many years as a teacher; and after retirement while at Providence Assisted Living, she enjoyed painting the nails of the elderly.  She was an avid animal lover who had a weakness especially for dogs.  
She is preceded in death by her parents, J. C. Miller, Jr. and Elaine Vaughn Miller.
Melanie is survived by her sister, Diane Shurden (Steve) of Drew; nephews, Shawn Shurden (Sonia) of Madison and Jared Shurden (Michaela) of Hernando; great-nieces, Sarah Grace Shurden of Madison, and Miller Shurden and Kade Shurden both of Hernando; great-nephew, Nathan Shurden of Madison; aunt, Janice Sanders (James) of AR; and a host of cousins whom she loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in her memory to your local animal shelter.
