Mrs. Minnie Gertrude Lett Kellum, 93, passed away on April 13, 2018, at NHC Nursing Home in Cookeville, TN. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Dr. Bobby Myers officiating. Interment will be in Linn Methodist Cemetery.
Minnie was born on July 22, 1924, to Luchien Lett and Francis Malinda Collum Lett in Morgan City, MS. She was a member of the Cleveland Church of God. Minnie worked as a baby sitter and house keeper until 1980 then she sent birthday, anniversary, get well and sympathy cards from home. (It upset her immensely if she forgot anyone's special day.)
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Kellum; daughters, Jessie Ruth McDonald and Janice Sue Kellum; son, Donald Kellum; two grandsons, Freddy Paul and Rocky Kellum; two granddaughters, Crystal Kellum and Jackie Kellum; four great grandchildren, Brian Neal Copeland, Joey Daniel Vestal, Jonathan Berchler, Jessica Berchler; four brothers, John William Lett, Luchian Andrew Lett, Charles Roscoe Lett, and Paul Lett; and six sisters, Effie Lett Murphy, Mamie Lett Walker, Juanita Lett, Gladys Lett Dearman, Alice Allbritton, and Pauline Holcomb.
Minnie is survived her two sons, James Kellun (Jill) of Cookeville, TN and Freddy Kellum (Becky) of Tupelo, MS; daughter, Carolyn Neal of Cookeville, TN; sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Lett of Harford, AL; six grandchildren, Stanley Thomas, Tina Berchler, Donna Harris, Kristie Chaney, Kimberly Bowman and Crystal Watson; twelve, great- grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
