Minnie Lee Cannon

Mrs. Minnie Lee Cannon, 93, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Cleveland, passed away Saturday September 10, 2016, at Northside Hospital in Cumming, GA. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery. Mrs. Cannon was born in Inverness, MS, on January 22, 1923, to John Dees and Ozie Minnie Kemp Dees. She married John C. Cannon, Jr., and they were members of Morrison Chapel Baptist Church. She worked for many years in the healthcare profession, and in her later years she enjoyed participating in activities with her friends at Oaks Senior Living Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Cannon, Jr.; parents, John Dees and Ozie Minnie Kemp Dees; son, John Larry Cannon; great-granddaughter, Alexis Cannon; and brother, J.C. Dees. Mrs. Cannon is survived by her son, Ronald Cannon (Ann) of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, John J. Cannon (Jean) of Martinez, GA, Derek Cannon (Shannon) of Richmond, VA, and Deirdre Cannon (Scott) of Monroe, CT; great-grandchildren, Steve Johnson of Augusta, GA, Jonah Cannon of Richmond, VA and Caleb Cannon of Richmond, VA; and brother, William Dees of Benoit, MS. In memory of Mrs. Cannon, the family requests donations be made to Morrison Chapel Baptist Church.
