Missy Pearce

Melissa Susan Pearce died in her sleep at home surrounded by the love of her family on November 5, 2019 and is now resting in the peace of Jesus. 
Missy is preceded in death by her father, Charles Levi Pearce; her grandparents Everlena and William Otis Stallings and Mallie and Levi Pearce; and Donnie Deason the father of her children, former husband and friend. 
She is survived by her children, Jennifer "Jenna" Deason Neumann (Erik) of New Orleans, Louisiana and Sarah Deason Aylward (Brig) of Cleveland, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Oskar Neumann, Keri Evelyn Neumann and Deason Aylward as well as by her mother Evelyn Stallings Pearce of Cleveland, Mississippi; her brother Charles Alfred "Booley" Pearce (Becky) of Brandon, Mississippi; and her nephew Charles Levi "C.L." Pearce (Kirsten) of Madison, Mississippi, parent to Eva, Selah, Jayin and Eliana. Missy gave the gift of life to Renee Gibson LaMastus (Mack) who has two children Mary Madeline and Gibson.
Missy was born in 1954 in Mobile, Alabama and was reared in Citronelle, Alabama in a loving home. She was baptized in the Citronelle United Methodist Church. Missy attended Cleveland High School, Moorhead Delta Community College, and received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Education degree from Delta State University. 
Missy spent 28 years of her career at Delta State University in Student Affairs, the Psychology Department, and the Alumni Foundation where she served as Director of Annual Giving. 
Missy's kind heart was evident to all those who met her. She was a member of many community and academic organizations over her lifetime including the Phi Mu Fraternity, the Humane Society, Mississippi Center for Non-Profit, Counsel for Advancement & Support for Education, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Gamma Mu, and Phi Alpha Theta and the Exchange Club. Missy served as Beta Sigma Phi State Girl of the Year, Cleveland Christmas Parade Chairman, and as a DSU Alumni Association Life Member. 
Missy enjoyed cooking southern meals for her family, doing yard work with her Mama, being an avid Alabama football fan, lounging by the pool, riding horses and taking care of animals, and checking off her bucket list with several trips with her daughters and grandchildren. 
Her daughters are thankful for their Mama for equipping them with unconditional love. They never questioned being loved. And love is where they will always look for her and where they will always remember her.
The funeral service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church in Cleveland, Mississippi on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a visitation before the service at 11:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m. at the Rayner House at Calvary Episcopal Church. Her ashes will be placed at the family gravesite at Citronelle, Alabama United Methodist Church. Her family looks forward to that last glorious day when she will be risen from the dead and reunited body and soul to life everlasting in perfect unity with all the company of heaven and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 
Honorary Pallbearers will be C.L. Pearce, Matt Jenkins, Bill Greenleaf, Steve Puckett and Jeremy Klein. 
In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity of your choice to honor Missy's life well lived.
