Morris Downs

Mr. Morris Enoch Downs, 70, of Shaw, MS passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Linn Baptist Church. Interment will be in Linn Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Downs was born July 22, 1942, to Lawrence Alfred Downs and Jewel Earnestine Harville Downs. He Married Frances Braswell Downs on July 11, 1961. He worked at Baxter Health Care and spent many years farming. He was a member of the Linn Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for 47 years.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Downs; children, Jeff (Jeanne) Downs, Jimmy (Lisa) Downs, and Ricky (Kay) Downs; grandchildren, Brent Downs, Brian Dinnell, Haley Downs, Mary Downs, Olivia Downs, Callie Downs, Harrison Downs, Reed Downs, and Sarah Frances Downs; brothers, Lawrence (Sara) Downs of Indianola, MS, and Delbert Downs (Adrianna) of San Antonio, TX; sister, Barbara Wells of Greenville, MS ; brother in law, Lawrence "Buck" Braswell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Don Lee, Reed Downs, Brent Downs, Brian Dinnell, Wilks Wood, Larry Downs, Robert Wells, and Brian Braswell. Honorary pallbearers will be James "Petey" Morgan, Donny Miller, Leo Vassar, Bill Jones, Mike Thompson, James McDonald, Bobby Hearn, Walter Clay Hearn, and Charlie Morgan.
Memorials may be made to Linn Baptist Church Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
