Mozelle Viner Ellis

Mrs. Mozelle Viner "MiMi" Ellis, 85, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Wednesday, 20, 2019, at Bolivar Medical Center. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the home of Kathryn Flemmons. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home with Brother Thomas Mahan officiating.
Mozelle was born on May 28, 1933, to James Wesley Viner and Millie Lou Elizabeth Willingham Viner in Webster County, MS. On June 27, 1951, she married Robert Aills Ellis, Jr. in Itta Bena, MS. For 18 years, Mozelle owned and operated a successful resale shop called "Encore" in Drew. She was a wonderful mother and dedicated to her life to her children. Upon the birth of her grandchildren, that love and dedication was passed on to them; but her greatest joy was being able to spend time with her great-grandson. She could often be found working in the yard, watching Fox News, listening to Elvis, crocheting, and telling stories (which was one of her biggest talents). Mozelle would rather eat hamburger than other food and would always want "just a little bit" of any dish offered to her.
She is preceded in death by husband, Bobby Ellis; sons, Dutch and Franklin Ellis; parents, James and Millie Viner; and siblings, Geneva Viner, Gladys "Tip" Scott, Louise "Diddy" LaMastus, and James Wesley "Buddy" Viner, Jr.
Mozelle is survived by her son, Jim Ellis (Freda) of Senatobia; daughter, Jenny Ellis Gladden (Paul) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Kathryn McCain Flemmons of Cleveland, Rebekah Ellis Hood (Christopher) of Dundee, Molly Ellis of Senatobia, and Kate Ellis James (Walker) of Tunica; great-grandson, Barrett Flemmons; siblings, Clara Davis of Pascagoula, Earlene Irwin of Chicago, IL, and Mike Chiz (Barney) of Shaw, sister-in-law, Carolyn Ray (Dorsey) of Indianola; and numerous nieces and nephews.  
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Holder, Barry Holder, John Downs, William Pyron, Tommy Mahan, Carl Massengale, Tad Britt, Bobby Harris, Brian Flemmons, Marvin Flemmons, Parks Kaplan, and Owen Ray.
