After leaving Delta State, she taught 3 year-old pre-k for Bayou Academy and later Presbyterian Day School from which she retired. Nancy was well-loved by her "kids" and was known for her fun and creative lesson plans that inspired the children. Many classroom days included music and song, as well as costumes such as Mother Goose, Clown, Fancy Nancy, Cat in the Hat, and others.
