Nell Jenkins

Nell Bowie Jenkins, 69, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018, in Jackson, MS.  Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home.  Celebration of Life services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Barry Bowie officiating. 
Nell was born in, Chester, MS on July 30, 1949, to Amos McKinley Bowie and Evelyn Gregg Bowie.  On June 1, 1975, she married Larry Nathaniel Jenkins Sr. in Shelby, MS.  She worked at Shelby Die Casting before opening her own in-home child care business. She worked for over twenty years in child care as a teacher and care giver.   She loved and cared for many of Cleveland's children prior to their pre-schooling.  She attended Rosedale Assembly of God Church for many years. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Evelyn Bowie; husband, Larry Jenkins Sr.; brother, Bobby Bowie.
Nell is survived by her daughter, Mandy Jenkins; brothers, J.B. Bowie (Tammye) of Memphis, TN, Joe Bowie (Sherry) of Lake Placid, FL, Barry Bowie (Peggy) of Atoka, TN, and Bill Bowie (Kathy) of Nashville, TN. 
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
