Nellie Whatley

Miss Nellie Estelle Whatley passed away at the age of 96 at the Quince Nursing Home in Memphis, TN, on April 15, 2011. She was born November 1, 1914, to Sebrin Jones Whatley and Maggie Long Whatley in Carroll County, Mississippi.
Miss Whatley was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Elsie Robinson and Lorraine Shepherd. She is survived by one sister, Doris Whatley in Memphis; 3 nieces, Barbara Jean Pender of Memphis, Betty Robinson of Cookeville, and Linda Moore of Jackson and their children and grandchildren.
Although Miss Whatley may have worked over 33 years at Baxter Laboratories in Cleveland, her family was her life. She loved her flowers and working in her yard and garden.
The family wishes to thank the Quince Nursing Home and the staff for their love and care of our precious Aunt Nellie and their Miss Nellie during her 2 years there.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday with 11 a.m. graveside in New Cleveland Cemetery service on Tuesday.
