Mrs. Nettie S. McClure, 89, went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2021 in Monroe, LA. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the New Cleveland Cemetery. Nettie was born on October 7, 1931 in Cleveland, MS to John Eston Simmons and Artie Francis Braswell Simmons Mullen. She attended Cleveland High School and was a member of Interstate Baptist Church. She was married to the love of her life Douglas McClure for 66 years. She worked at Baxter Lab and retired after 28 years. Most of all, she was a full time mom. She was an avid crocheter and taught a crochet class at Azalea Estates in Monroe. She made many crochet Afghan blankets for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music, especially the Gaithers. She loved her husband, two sons and daughter-laws, grandkids, great grandkids, and extended family with all of her heart. She is preceded in passing by her husband, Douglas McClure; and her parents, John Eston and Artie. She is survived by her two sons, Roland McClure (Patricia) of Monroe, LA and Joel McClure (Stephanie) of Hernando, MS; sister, Elizabeth Ann Fletcher; grandchildren, Ethan McClure (Kristen), Alex McClure (Randa), and Maddie McClure; and great grandchildren, Dak McClure, Bree McClure, and Stella Louise McClure.
