Opal Mixon
Opal Scrivner Mixon, 92, of Linn, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Desoto Health Care. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Linn Methodist Church with the Celebration of Life Services immediately following beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Jim Harmon and Bro. Jeremy Funeerburk officiating. Interment will be in the Linn Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. Mixon was born in Yalobusha County on July 26, 1920 to Thomas L. Scrivner and Maiferd Sarepta Holloway and was the fifth of ten children. She was a woman of many talents who loved her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and seamstress.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas L. Scrivner and Maiferd Holloway Scrivner; and husband, Edwin Mixon.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Annette Mixon Braswell (Samuel) of Hernando, MS , and Petey Mixon of Linn, MS; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren;
Pallbearers will be Sam Braswell Jr., John Harrell, Stephen Harrell, Will Ashley, Nate Ashley, and Matt Womack.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Linn Cemetery Fund.
