Patricia Palmer Bahammou, 51, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2018, with her daughter by her side in their home in Greenville, South Carolina. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Shaw Cemetery with Rev. Walter Godsmith officiating. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery.
Patricia was born on July 1, 1966, to Henry Frank Palmer and Barbara Ann Jones in Mississippi. She graduated Bayou Academy in Cleveland, MS, where she served as the homecoming queen. Patricia was a hardworking, extremely independent woman who went on to own her own restaurant in Benoit, MS called The Old Brick Patio and Restaurant where she served comfort foods. She was an excellent cook and said to have made the best food. Patricia spent as much time outdoors as she could whether it be mowing the lawn or cooking on the grill.
As everyone finds their purpose in life, Patricia felt hers was to be a mother. When she became a mother to her beloved daughter, Amina Deang, she dedicated her life and had given everything to love her wholeheartedly. She showed her love by supporting, encouraging and serving Amina throughout the years because she was a princess to her. When Amina had children, they became the apple of Patricia's eye. She enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters, Ezra and Eden, as much as she could. Ezra and her "Mimi" instantly became best friends. She always told Ezra, "You're my best little friend!".
Patricia was a woman of great faith who loved her Lord, Jesus Christ with all of her heart. Often when she spoke about her Heavenly Father, she would tear up because of the love and faith she had. She battled cancer for many years and was ready, even excited, to go to Heaven to see her Lord and also her father, who she loved dearly and longed to see him once again since his passing in 2015. Patricia never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a rough life and experienced true pain but still, always wore a smile even when faced with the trials of life. Family was important to Patricia, she adored and loved them with all that she was. A few words her family would say to describe her would be beautiful spirit, silly, mother hen, God loving, very head strong, outgoing, energetic, fun loving, full of life, compassionate, loyal, trustworthy, good listener, faithful friend, encourager and a precious gift from God.
She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Frank Palmer.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Amina Deang (Jeremiah); granddaughters, Ezra and Eden Deang; mother, Barbara Palmer, brother, Keith Palmer (Diana); sisters, Donna Palmer, Emily Palmer (Rusty Letson), and Rebecca Palmer; a host of nieces and nephews; extended family; prayer warriors; and friends.
