Mr. Paul Ray Overstreet, 73, of Merigold, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at his home. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Braswell officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery. Mr. Overstreet was born in Waynesboro, MS on May 31, 1943, to Paul Turner Overstreet and Mildred Jenkins Overstreet. On September 9, 1966, he married Linda Louise Miller in Hamilton, AL. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and worked as a welder and pipefitter for most of his life. He was a member of Calvary Baptist church; and he enjoyed racing, watching tennis, riding his rhino, bird watching, and spending time with his dogs. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family who meant the world to him. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Turner Overstreet; mother, Mildred Jenkins Overstreet Moore; and step-father, Wylie Moore. Mr. Overstreet is survived by his wife, Linda Miller Overstreet of Merigold; children, Paul Overstreet, Jr. of Merigold, Paige Overstreet White (Kent) of Cleveland, Pam Overstreet Young (Kevin) of Marks, and Patrick Overstreet (Wendy) of Ruleville; grandchildren, Kadi Young of Money, Greyson Young of Marks, Kourtney White of Cleveland, Erin White of Cleveland, John Michael Gore of Ruleville, Todd Gore of Ruleville, and Dustin Cox of Cleveland; brother, Ken Overstreet (Donna) of Yankeetown, FL; and sister, Sherry Denton (Ricky) of Royse City, TX. Pallbearers will be Vince Ray, Brent Branning, Jason Ballard, Kenny Runnels, B.B. Dye, and George McCain. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Harrison and Nathan Underwood. In loving memory of Mr. Overstreet, the family requests donations made to the charity of your choice.
