Pauline Mayo

Mrs. Pauline Mayo was born in Arkansas on July 29, 1912 to Addie and Alvie Baker. She was married to Robert Eldred Mayo and they had one daughter, Billie Jean Hopkins. She worked for J.C. Penny in Greenville, MS and Gibson's in Cleveland, MS until her retirement. She was very active in the Interstate Baptist Church until she moved to Cleveland, MS. She has always enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings. She has been in Long Term Care for many years under the care of Dr. Rice Lewis. Mrs. Mayo passed away on May 25, 2011 at Long Term Care in Bolivar Medical Center.
Celebration of life service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Delta Heights Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Billie Jean Hopkins; grandchildren, Deborah Kay Hopkins of Thibodaux, LA and Gloria Faye Burton (Bobby) of Beulah, MS and James Wesley "Buddy" Hopkins of Thibodaux, LA; great- granddaughters, Tabitha Shamblin, Rachael and Madelyn Hopkins and Abby Tatum; great-grandsons, Drew Tatum and Wesley Tatum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
