Wina J "Petey" Mixon
Mrs. Petey Mixon was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 23, 2019. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 at Linn Methodist Church in Linn, MS at 3:00 P.M. Graveside  service will follow immediately at Linn Methodist Church Cemetery.
Petey was born on September 27, 1939 in Sunflower County to Mr. & Mrs. Winnie Edwin Mixon & Opal Juanita Scrivner Mixon. She grew up in Linn where she attended and graduated from Linn High School in 1957. She went on to attend Delta State University where she received a bachelor's degree in Education. Mrs. Petey went on teach for over 30 years in Florida, where she spent most of her adult life. Once she retired, she moved back to MS where she devoted most of her time to the  Mississippi  State Fire Fighters  Association Women's Auxiliary. She also studied, trained, to become a Linn Volunteer Fire Fighter In which meant a great deal to her. Most of all Petey was a proud, independently strong woman who loved her family and friends deeply.  
She is preceded in passing by her parents, Winnie Edwin & Opal Juanita Mixon.
She is survived by her loving sister, Barbara Mixon Braswell, and her husband Samuel of Heranando, MS.
Along with a host of loving nieces and nephews.
