Mrs. Rena Mae Bruce, 86, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, at her home. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home. A second visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, prior to the services. Celebration of life services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Bruce and Rev. John Chouccoli officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Drew City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bruce was born in Isola, MS, on December 17, 1925, to Clarence G. Morris and Louise Minton Morris. She was married to J.B. Bruce, Jr. for 48 years. She was a member of Yale Street Baptist Church and loved to cut her yard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence G. Morris and Louise Minton Morris; husband, J.B. Bruce, Jr.; and son, Steve Lamar Bruce.
Mrs. Bruce is survived by her sons, Thomas Bruce (Glenda) of Cleveland, MS and Kenneth Bruce (Kay) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, John Bruce (Dawn) of Memphis, TN, Katrena McDaniel (Troy) of Greenwood, MS, and Kenny Bruce (Jessica) of Cleveland, MS; greatgrandchildren, Tyler Bruce, Robbie McDaniel, and Mary Slay McDaniel; sisters, Margaret Kelly (Doc) of Gore Springs, MS, Joyce Lopez of Austin,TX, and Lucille Wakeland of Jackson, MS; brothers, Emmit Morris (Marie) of Cleveland, MS, Roy Morris (Quay) of Gore Springs, MS, and Jerry Morris (Janie) of Gore Springs, MS.
Pallbearers will be Charles Weeks, Ralph Rush, David Williams, Jimmie Kitrell, W.D. Beach, and Ricky Barryhill.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Yale Street Baptist Church P.O. Box 816 Cleveland, MS 38732.
