Mrs. Renza Hudson Shoops, 90, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at River region Medical Center. Mrs. Shoops was a native of Coxheath, Ala. She lived in Cleveland for a number of years and moved to Vicksburg in the late 1950's. She was a member of Morrison Chapel Baptist church in Cleveland, then Immanuel Baptist Church and later Woodlawn Baptist Church in, where she was an active member and served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class and Senior Saints. She enjoyed being a mother and a wife. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. Mrs. Shoops was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Alma Hudson; her sister, Beatrice H. Stewart; and brothers, Elmer V. Hudson, Wilba Hudson' and Carl Hudson. She is survived by her husband, James W. Shoops, of Vicksburg; her son, Ricks Shoops (Myra) of Cloudcroft, N.M; her daughter, Pam Barnes (harry) of Vicksburg; her grandchildren Larry Shoops (Paula), Wesley Barnes (Kim), Matthew Barnes, Renza Anthony and Josh Thompson, A.J. Barnes and Jamie Pierce and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Woodlawn Baptist Church with her nephew, the Rev. Scott Sasser officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. at New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Glenwood Funeral Home, and Monday at Woodlawn Baptist Chur5ch from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. pallbearers will be Larry Shoops, Wesley Barnes, A.J. Barnes, Matthew Barnes, Richard Anthony, and Reef Anthony. The family would like to thank a special friend, Rhetta Terres and the staff of Heritage House Retirement Center and River Region Medical Center.
