Richard "Dickie" Hayden Smith, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the age of 71 in Collinsville, AL.
Dickie was born in Greenville, MS to William and Ann Evans Smith on November 15, 1952. Dickie moved to Ruleville, MS as a child where he met the love of his life and made the best of friends. Dickie married his beloved wife, Emily Curry Smith of Drew, MS, on December 11, 1982 in Ruleville, MS.
Dickie was known for his love of the Beatles, Elvis Presley movies, Looney Tunes, sports, chocolate bars, camping, deep belly laughs and his family. He was a beloved husband, father, Poppy and friend.
Dickie is survived by his wife, Emily and their children: Jill-Curry Henderson (Marshall), Hayden Evans Smith (Chris) and David Ross Smith; 13 grandchildren: Matthew, Myles, Smith, Eleanor, Roscoe, Harrison, Caroline, George, Oliver, Elliot, Hudson, Jack and August.
Dickie was preceded in death by William Ross Smith (Father), Ann Evans Milburn (Mother), Richard Edward Milburn (Stepfather), William Ross Smith (Brother) and Richard Edward Smith (infant son).
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS.
Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church with a graveside service to follow in Ruleville, MS
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gathering Place in Fort Payne, AL.
