Mrs. Rosa Marie Mangialardi Fava, 94, of Shelby, MS was called home to be with her Lord on February 15, 2020. A visitation honoring her life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shelby, MS from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00a.m. with the Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will follow in the Shelby Cemetery. She was born on September 18, 1925 In Shelby, MS to Louis & Celesta Montagna Mangialardi. She grew up in Shelby and attended Shelby High School. She married Joseph Louis Fava on January 18, 1949. They owned and operated Fava Grocery Store for over 60 years. The store and the people that visited them daily were an important part of their lives. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Organization and St. Mary's Finance Committee. She loved her church community and served in many different capacities. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Mrs. Fava is preceded in passing by her parents, Louis & Celesta Mangialardi; her loving husband of sixty three years, Joseph Louis Fava; her infant child, Marie Fava; her son-in-law, David Shelby Van Every Sr.; six brothers, Gino, Secondo, Medel, Flower, Fred, and Robert Mangialardi; five sisters, Edith Tarsi, Mattie Sabbatini, Emma Capocaccia, Marjorie Bramuchi, and Marie Sacco. She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Van Every of Columbus, MS., Donna Koerth(John David) of Highland Village, TX., Mary Jo Zummo(Nat) of Brandon, MS; four grandchildren, Shelby Van Every of Columbus, MS., Joseph Van Every of Columbus, MS., Angela Langley (James) of Highland Village, TX., Lauren Enger (Kristopher)of Argyle, TX.; one great grandchild, Kolton Enger of Argyle, TX; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes memorials to be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the charity of your choice. The family would also like to thank the third floor staff and the ICU staff at Bolivar Medical Center, the staff at Indywood Estates, and the sitters for their love and care for our mother.
