Mrs. Rose Mary Scott Ainsworth, 72, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016, at First United Methodist Church in Cleveland with Rev. Will Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow in North Cleveland Cemetery. Mrs. Ainsworth was born in Greenwood, MS, on October 29, 1943, to Fount H. Scott and Mildred Ingram Scott. On July 26, 1968, she married Jerry Wayne Ainsworth in Clarksdale, MS, and worked for many years at Bolivar Medical Center as a Medical Transcriptionist. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was involved in many groups namely The Mattie Lou Niell Group, served on the Administrative Board, and this past year she and her brother Henry received the Tobias Gibson Award from the United Methodist Mississippi Conference. Described by many as the biggest Delta State fan you have ever met, Rose Mary was tried and true Green and White. She was a longtime member of the Delta State Booster Club, and she and her husband were co-recipients of Delta State University Bolivar County Alumni Chapter Service Award in 1996. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fount H. Scott and Mildred Ingram Scott. Mrs. Ainsworth is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Ainsworth of Cleveland; daughter, Carmen Denise Ainsworth Taylor (Greg) of Cleveland; brother, Henry Scott (Linda) of Houston, MS; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Craig Verhage, Marty Hall, Paul "Bubba" Mancini, Michael Aguzzi, Gary Crews and Curt Newton. Honorary pallbearers will be Chet Norton, Gale Roark, Ed Pollan, John Hester, Joe Middleton, Allan Reynolds, Oscar Webster, and Marty Tubbs. In memory of Mrs. Ainsworth, the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church and/or Delta State University Athletics.
