Mrs. Ruby Sue Bush Issa, 85, of Ruleville, MS, passed away at her home, Thursday, August 11, 2011. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life service will be Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Ruleville United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Hutson officiating. Burial will follow service in Lehrton Cemetery.
Mrs. Issa was born October 24, 1925 to Clarence E. Bush and Mamie Hopper Bush in Kemper County, MS. She was a native of Kemper County and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in history from the University of Southern Mississippi. She came to Ruleville in 1947 to teach and lived in the Magnolia Hotel. She met her husband, while he ran the Ruleville City Café. They married in 1950. Mrs. Issa was the Librarian at Ruleville High School and a history teacher at North Sunflower Academy until her retirement in 1987. Mrs. Issa was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals, especially her cats.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward John Issa; and son, Ed Issa, Jr.
Mrs. Issa is survived by her son, Curtis Ray Issa of Ruleville, MS; niece Kaye Morrow of Arlington, TX; nephew, Floyd Bush of Hattiesburg, MS and nephew, Wayne Bush of San Antonio, TX.
Pallbearers will be John Robert Dorrough, Duff Dorrough, Ronald Terrell, Hugh Arant, Lewis Scott, and Kermit Stanton.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Paul Gates, Dan Estes, and Dr. Sonny Dorrough.
