Ruby Ray Self Lindsey, 80, of Sardis, Mississippi, passed away on November 15th, 2015. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Interment will be in Stoneville Cemetery in Leland, MS. She is the only child of the late Raymond O'Dell Self (Ray) and Willie Veatrice Sims Self of Greenville, MS. Born in Ethel, Mississippi, Attala County in 1935. She is the widow of the lateDaniel Randolph Lindsey, Sr. She is also the former wife of the late Edward Harold Eddins Sr. She is survived by her four children, Daniel Randolph Lindsey II (Danny) of Hazelhurst, Miss., Deborah Suzanne Lindsey Viner (Debbie) of Sardis, Miss., Michael Ray Lindsey (Nettie) of Independence, Miss., and Angela Gayle Eddins Donald (Angie) of Sardis, Miss. Eight grandchildren and Fifteen great grandchildren. Ruby was raised in Greenville, MS., and graduated from E.E. Bass. She was a former dance student of Almyra Jackson. She is also a graduate of Delta Beauty College in Greenville, Mississippi. She was a licensed cosmetologist and entrepreneur.She owned Angela's House on Washington Ave in Greenville in the 1970's. She was the District Manager of Diana Shops, retail clothing stores, in the 1970's winning "Manager of the Year "numerous times. Owned her own salon in Greenville, MS., in the 80's before moving to Southaven, MS. There she worked for Mac's 1 & 2 to name a few salons. In the 1990's she worked at Hair Rodeo in Nesbit, MS. She lived in Kosciusko, MS., during the late 1990's and early 2000's before moving to Sardis, MS.Her greatest accomplishment was raising four children on her own. Ruby was known as an animal lover, gifted artist, interior decorator and writer to her family who knew her best. She is described by her family as the most beautiful and classy woman who ever lived, whom we loved with all of our hearts. We admired her courage, strength, straight forwardness and heramazing grace beyond what words could describe. We shall cherish her memory forever and dearly miss her sense of humor and the love she gave us. She was a kind and sweet soul who'd do anything to help others. Those whose lives she touched were left with a smile. She now walks with our Lord, dances with the angels and rejoices with those whom she loved who went before her. We shall love you, always and forever.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Greenville, Mississippi.
