Mrs. Edna Ruth Mitchell, 64, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2017, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. John Gentry officiating.
Mrs. Mitchell was born to Willie Ray Dye and Ida Kendall Dye on February 22, 1953, in Parchman, MS. On March 5, 1976, she married Douglas Mitchell in Sumner, MS. She enjoyed antiques and shopping for antique jewelry, traveling, and fishing. More than anything, she loved her children and grandchildren. She truly cared about other people and made sure they were taken care of.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Ray Dye and Ida Kendall Dye; and brother, Gary Dye.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, Doug Mitchell of Greenville; children, Stepheny Layne Gish (Kevin) of Southaven and Brad Mitchell (Lindsey) of Clinton; grandchildren, Barrett Gish, Hannah Lee, Hayden Lee, Ashlyn Lee, Anna Caroline Gish, Joel Gish, and Presley Mitchell; brothers, Bobby Dye (Nadene) of Coffeville and Boyce Kendall "B.B." Dye (Wanda) of Coffeville; and sisters, Beverly Durastanti (Mac) of Leland, and Susan Haney (Jerry) of Hernando.
