Mrs. Ruth Tedder Shoops, 88, of Holly Bluff, MS, formerly of Memphis, TN, passed away at River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, MS, Thursday, February 9, 2012. Visitation will be at Ray Funeral Home Monday, February 13, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Celebration of life service will be at 11:00 am at Ray Funeral Home on Monday, February 13, 2012. Interment will follow services in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Shoops was born October 25, 1923 to John Rube Tedder and Pearl Steed Tedder in Boyle, MS. She married Charles Winfred Shoops December 23, 1942 in Hernando, MS. Mrs. Shoops was a housewife, but worked at an aircraft factory during World War II. She cared for her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles Winfred Shoops of Holly Bluff, MS, formerly of Memphis, TN; daughter, Peggy S. Moody (John L.) of Holly Bluff, MS; son, Charles "Sonny" Shoops of Holly Bluff, MS; grandchildren, J.L. Moody and James Richard Shoops; great-grandchildren, Haiden Shoops and Kierstyn Shoops; sister, Emma T. Moody of Cleveland, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James Albert Tedder.
Memorials may be made to charity of your choice.
