Sara Lou Guest McClure, 60, of Shaw passed away May 5, 2011 at Bolivar Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Interstate Baptist Church in Shaw with Rev. Robert Haney officiating. Burial will follow at North Cleveland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., May 6, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to funeral service.
Survivors include; husband, John Ralph McClure, Jr. of Shaw, MS; sister, Labon Guest Cotten of Jackson, MS; two brothers, Bobby Guest (Sheila) of Boyle, MS, Robert (Skeet) Guest (Ella) of Drew, MS; daughter, Margaret McClure Loffreda (Mike) of Washington State; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Cotten, Tad Cummins, Clay Cummins, Nathan Cummins, Terry Grissom, and Sylvester Kirk
Honorary pallbearers will be Auston Ray and Jacob Hudson.
Mrs. McClure was born April 23, 1951 to Homer Lee Guest and Mavis Ouida Hillhouse in Drew, MS. She graduated from Delta State University with a BA and MA in education. She became a model teacher and had many practice teachers under her. She was a very dedicated member of Interstate Baptist Church, where she was the pianist and choir director. She also served as a missionary to the Bahamas in her early years. She loved playing the piano and organ at the church with Betty Lou Stanford, a dear friend. Her special little friends, Will Haney, Lexie Bowen, Morgan and Auston Ray were much loved by her and her husband. She will be missed most by her family, who was her heart.
