Sarah Tiftickjian

Sarah Tiftickjian, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, passed away on February 9, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on March 9, 1952, Sarah lived a life filled with love, joy, and compassion.

Sarah will be deeply missed by her daughter Amy Hutchinson, her son John Tiftickjian, and her grandchildren Morgan Hutchinson, Helen Ruger, Jessica Panaia, Alex Hutchinson, Dylan Tiftickjian, and Tucker Tiftickjian. She was also blessed to have three great-grandchildren, Maisy Lowrey, Jesse Hutchison, and Wesley Panaia.

As a teacher for 11 years, Sarah dedicated her life to educating and supporting her students, taking pride in each and every one of them. When she wasn’t in the classroom, she could be found in the audience at every awards ceremony, competition and graduation of her grandchildren. Without fail, she always cheered the loudest.

With a deep love for nature and animals, Sarah spent most of her time outside, preferably in the mountains or on the beach. She loved gardening and became an avid bird watcher-two hobbies that she shared with her late husband, daughter and grand-daughters. She became a certified Master Gardener after retirement and volunteered her time to care for many paintings in Bolivar County.

Sarah treated everyone that walked through her door like family, whether she had known them their entire lives or was meeting them for the first time. Her endless love could be felt in her hugs, homemade dinners and the way she would tell and retell stories about the people she held dear. Sarah’s stories will continue to be told and retold for years to come.

In the coming days, we will gather to celebrate Sarah’s extraordinary life and bid her farewell. A memorial service will be held on March 9, 2024, with Visitation at Ray Funeral Home from 11am – 12pm and a Memorial Service to follow at 12 pm at the same location. Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring her memory and sharing stories that encapsulates the essence of who she was.

As we mourn the loss of Sarah Tiftickjian, let us also celebrate the legacy she leaves behind. May her infectious laughter, unconditional love and kindness continue to inspire us all.

Rest in peace, Sarah. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
