Sarah Williams

Sarah Willams, 84, gained her wings and went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Visitation will be held at Ray Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Leherton Cemetery in Ruleville, Mississippi after the service.

Sarah was born and raised in Duck Hill, Mississippi. She graduated from Duck Hill High School then furthered her education by earning her bachelor’s degree in education at Delta State University. After receiving her degree, she taught for 36 years in the Sunflower County School District before retiring.  She was a loving wife, mother, friend, and most of all, a loving grandmother. She enjoyed her family and the time they spent together. Sarah was a proud Christian and faithful member of Ruleville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Pam) Holder of Merigold, MS; Todd Holder of Cleveland, MS; Kay (Ricky) Downs of Boyle, MS; and grandchildren, Blake (Anna) Holder, Ashley Holder Ladner, Ty (Heesy) Holder, Reed (Laura) Downs, and Sarah Frances Downs. She is also survived by her siblings, Tommy (Betty) Blaylock of Clinton, MS; and Callie Briscoe of Senatobia, MS. 

She is predeceased by her parents, J.T. (Ruth) Blaylock; her husband, A.B. Williams; and her siblings, Robert G. Blaylock, Peggy Butler, and James Thomas Blaylock.
