Mrs. Sharlene Coleman Hudson, 73, of Cleveland, MS, passed away, Sunday, November 6, 2011 at her home. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Celebration of life service will be Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Artie Nute and Rev. Larry Chouccoli officiating. Burial will follow service in Lehrton Cemetery.
Mrs. Hudson was born in Vaiden, MS, to Thomas Henry Coleman and Audie Lee Mann on January 2, 1938. She married Harley Gayle Hudson on December 27, 1959. She was a member of the Dockery Baptist Church. She was a retired correctional officer for 16 years at Mississippi State Department of Corrections
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harley Gayle Hudson; and daughter, Darlene Gilbert.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by her granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Gilbert of Brandon, MS, whom she and her late husband raised as a daughter; four siblings, Tommie Muirhead and Brooxie Cutts of Cleveland, MS, Barbara Wheeler of Hernando, MS and Cledith Coleman of Sarasota, FL.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Turner, Parker Turner, Keith Wheeler, Steven Wheeler, Jeff Gilder, Coleman Gilder, Bennie Nutt, Stephen Harrell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Claude Gilbert, Benny Coleman, Norman Chenault and Doug Pannell.
Memorials may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
