Send a Sympathy Card
Sharon Marie Sauerwein, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2023 in Shaw, MS. A graveside service will be held, Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11 am at Delta Heights Memorial Gardens for family and close friends.
Sharon was born on July 9, 1947 in Danville, Arkansas to D.W. “Short” and Dollie Wilson. She graduated from Lemoore, California High School in 1965 and played clarinet in the band.
Sharon was immensely proud of her three grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Nana.
She touched many lives during her professional career as a nursing home administrator in the Cleveland area and in southwest Mississippi. Sharon truly poured her heart and soul into her work. She had a reputation as a very organized and detail-oriented person, and this was apparent in everything she did both at home and at work. In her retirement, Sharon enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends and family and was a fierce but friendly competitor at any and all board games she could convince others to play.
Sharon was also an excellent cook who always arrived with casseroles and desserts for friends and family during the holidays and any occasion where she could share her culinary talents. Her easy-going demeanor, smiling and friendly face and generosity will be missed by many.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Sauerwein; and brothers, Jimmy Lee Wilson and Lowell Wilson (Betty).
Sharon is survived by her son, Brad Sauerwein (Kim); daughter, Sandy Ray (Jody); sisters, Becky Wilson-Ables (Ronnie) and Brenda White (James); grandchildren Caleb Ray, Anna Sauerwein, and Emily Sauerwein; and Donna Peacock, who became like a daughter to Sharon through the years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
