Mrs. Sherry Lynn Allen, 65, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 at her home. Visitation will be 10 -11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow beginning at 11:15 a.m. in Delta Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Overstreet officiating.
Mrs. Allen was born March 18, 1947, to Ellis Linwood Craft and Jessie Avinell Leggett Craft. On January 29, 1967, she married Bobby Gene Allen in Boyle, MS. She was a member of Merigold United Methodist Church, and worked for many years as a nurse at the hospital and nursing home. She enjoyed fishing, camping, cross stitching, ceramics, gardening; and most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Allen of Cleveland; sons, Tim Allen (Jamie) of Cleveland and Todd Allen (Dianne) of Cape Girardeau, MO; daughter, Gena Childress (Kent) of Fairview, TN; sister, Wanda Kynerd (Curtis) of Raymond, MS; grandchildren, Joshua Alexander, Amanda Allen, Journey Allen, Elizabeth Allen, Jessica Gullet, Colton Childress, Keith Childress, and Rob Childress; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Stewart, Wallace Boyd, Bubba Parker, James Parker, Gordon Gregory, and Joel Hammons.
In honor of Mrs. Allen, memorials can be made to LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
