Sue Ella Holeman Hillhouse, of Roundaway, passed away peacefully on her 96th birthday Monday, December 30, 2013, at Kings Daughters Hospital in Greenville. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Interment will be at Linn Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hillhouse was born in Choctaw County, MS in Black Hawk Community on December 30, 1917, to Benjamin Holeman and Alma Ellis Holeman. On December 2, 1933, she married Lawrence Wilburn Hillhouse in Linn, MS. He preceded her in death in 1992. At an early age, they homesteaded their property in the Roundaway Community in Sunflower County where she resided until her death.
She leaves two daughters, Robbie Sue Frazier (William Jr.) of Rossville, TN and Dorothy E. Hunt of Indianola, MS; two granddaughters, Melinda Aldridge (Wayne) of Carrollton, TX and Leann Marquis (Michael) of Navarre, FL; grandson, Larry Smith of California; seven great-granddaughters, Laurie Jarolemik (Justin), Melissa Harbin (Dan), Melody Matej (Adam), Jessica Mc Daniel, Sara Beth Marquis, Allison Marquis, and Morgan Marquis; and 4 great-great-grandchildren Lydia Harbin, Jackson Jarolemik, Isaiah Harbin, and Paige Matej.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Linn United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund C/O Travis Cooper 996 Steiner Rd. Shaw, MS 38773 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
