Mrs. Sue Mansfield Nickell, 76, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at her home. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland. The Celebration of Life service will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. September 25, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Michael McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Nickell was born in Alabama on May 11, 1939, to Henry S. Shockley and Ruby Parks Shockley. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her world revolved around them and the time she was able to spend with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Tucker Mansfield. Mrs. Nickell is survived by her husband, Larry Gayle Nickell; children, Kenna Mansfield, Jr. (Kathy) of Madison, MS, Gregory Mansfield (Tonya) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Gayle Phiffer (Zane) of Arlington, TX, Wendy Miller of Cleveland, MS, and Ashley McNutt (Matt) of Cleveland, MS; sister, Helen Daughtery of Shaw, MS; and step-brother, Larry Brown of Illinois.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Shive, Wesley Shive, Mike Boyd, Dr. Kalil Abide, Bob Taylor, and Johnny Conrad. In memory of Mrs. Nickell, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
