With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Teresa Gore, loving wife, mother, and Poppy. She passed away surrounded by loved ones on December 13, 2024. She was born on September 29, 1959, in Clarksdale, MS, to Jimmy and Liz Williams. Teresa became a big sister in 1969 to her precious sister, Pam.
Teresa began her career in the healthcare industry at the age of 15 at the Woman’s Clinic in Clarksdale. She continued to work in healthcare administration for 50 years. Her colleagues at Northwest Regional Medical Center, Health Management Associates, and Progressive Health of Batesville were more than co-workers - they were friends and family. Teresa was passionate about the healthcare industry and was dedicated to superb patient care, recognizing the good deeds of employees, and being available to all to ensure positive experiences.
Teresa married her best friend and love her of life, Tim Gore, on March 7, 1981. Teresa and Tim built a beautiful life together. Teresa supported Tim in all work endeavors including the creation of his excavation and construction business, Tim Gore Inc. She sat with Tim each night to take minutes of his daily progress on projects and created all of his invoices. Tim and Teresa believed in give and take in marriage, and Tim was supportive and immensely proud of Teresa’s accomplishments in healthcare administration. Teresa and Tim moved to Boyle, MS in December 2022 to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. They spent the last two years making endless memories, sharing laughs, making plenty of trips to Walmart, and turning their new house into a home. Tim fulfilled his vow of loving Teresa in sickness and in health as he never left her side during her short battle with cancer. He was her advocate, supporter, and protector. Teresa and Tim spent 45 years together, and their marriage will remain a testament of true love to all who knew them.
Teresa and Tim were blessed with one daughter, Claire. Teresa and Claire were always more than a mother and daughter duo; they were best friends. Teresa was Claire’s confidant, fierce protector, and role model. Claire will miss drinking coffee, watching Hallmark movies, trips to Target, and her mama’s hugs. Claire believed Teresa knew her better than she knew herself; she knew she could be her true self with her mama. She and Tim provided Claire with every opportunity to succeed in life. The lessons, experiences, and examples shared by Teresa will be utilized by Claire each day to guide her steps at work, at home, and with her own daughter. The loss of Teresa will forever leave a void in Claire’s life, but Claire will keep her memory alive for Tim and Teresa’s beloved granddaughter, Bailey Ann.
Teresa loved being a wife and mother, but she treasured being “Poppy.” Bailey Ann brought exuberance to Teresa’s life. She was made to be a grandmother, and she went above and beyond to fulfill her role. From FaceTime calls, snuggling on the couch, listening to K-Love, being rocked to sleep in ‘their rocking chair,’ and everything in between, Teresa cherished every moment with her granddaughter.
Teresa is preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Williams; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Pauline Gore; brother-in-law, Lee Gore; and nephew, Ronnie Pearl.
She is survived by her husband, Tim; daughter, Claire (Lyle) Cole; granddaughter, Bailey Ann Cole; mother, Liz Williams; sister, Pam (Jason) Richards; sister-in-law, Cindi Pearl; and five nephews: Cameron, Chris (Christina), Jake (Anna), Carson, and Gavin.
Tim and Claire want to thank the doctors, nurses, aides, and all healthcare workers for their dedication to her care. We want to especially thank Miss Cindi Green with Legacy Hospice for helping us care for Teresa/mama in her last days.
Teresa’s family plans to memorialize her by being a light for Jesus and living their lives to honor Him as she did.
“Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, how great Thou art!”
