Mr. Thomas Lee Salley, 69, of Clinton, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Braswell officiating. Interment will follow in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. Salley was born September 14, 1945, to Travis Salley and Margaret Rhea Sigmond Salley. He proudly served our country in the United States Airforce, and worked as a manager and project supervisor at Baxter Laboratories for 33 years. Thomas was a charismatic man that was very outgoing and full of a wealth of knowledge. He loved life to its fullest and he was one of the most positive people you would ever meet. There was always a smile on his face and he never met a stranger. He was so caring that he would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, flying airplanes, boating, cooking and eating. He adored his wife and loved his family dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Margaret Salley; and a grandson, Joseph Scott Salley.
Mr. Salley is survived by his wife, Pamela Claypool Salley of Clinton, MS; children, Joseph Travis Salley (Mary Virginia Sandifer) of Boyle, MS and Maura Alice Salley Gerald of Merigold; step-children, Greg Mims of Clinton, MS and Dorothy Claypool of Starkville, MS; grandchildren, Kylan Ellison of Boyle, MS, Austin Gerald of Clarksdale, MS and Gunner Gerald of Clarksdale, MS; and brother, James Melton Salley (Gay) of Boyle, MS.
Pallbearers will be W.B. Crain, Allen Halliburton, Ronald Salley, Kylan Ellison, Jimmy Sigmond, David Williams, Frank Fillingham, and Greg Dreher. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Tindle, Carl Blaylock and Mike Salley.
