Tim Tackett

Timmy Wayne Tackett, aged 62, of Cleveland, MS, passed away and was called home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2024. A visitation to honor Tim's life will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 5-6 pm at the Cleveland Church of God. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 6pm in the Church of God.
 
Tim was born on March 21, 1962, in Shelby MS, to the late, Billy Louis and Maudie Hays Tackett. He spent his formative years in Shelby, MS and graduated High School from Bayou Academy.  Tim dedicated many years to farming. Music held a special place in Tim's heart from a young age, particularly the drums. He showcased his musical talent across the Mississippi Delta for numerous years and he was also a former member of the Cracker Jacks Band.  Tim was an avid hunter.  
 
In his later years, Tim found solace and purpose in his faith journey with Jesus Christ which led him to play drums for the Lord at the Cleveland Church of God. Through praise and worship, his love for the Lord blossomed. But above all, Tim was known for his selflessness and unwavering love towards others; he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  Tim never met a stranger and loved to share stories.  
 
Tim's true joy in life came from his sons Blake, and Dixon, and all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Maudie Tackett of Shelby, MS. 

He is survived by his sons, Blake Tackett of Cleveland, MS, Gus Dixon Brown of Cleveland, MS., his siblings, Carol Chapman of Carrollton, MS., Billie Gordon of Merigold, MS., Louis (Diane) Tackett of Carrolton, MS,  Mark (Martha) Tackett of Oak Grove, LA, Susan Holt of Ruleville, MS., four grandchildren, Ethan, Riley, Mason, Hudson, and a host of loving great grandchildren.
