Travis Lavern Avritt, Sr.

Travis L. Avritt, Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in Wake Forest, NC.  Visitation/Viewing will be 12:00-2:00p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  A Memorial talk will follow at 2:00p.m. followed by the Interment at the Shaw Cemetery.
Travis L. Avritt, Sr. was born August 13, 1931 in Helm, MS to John Henry Avritt and Loueva Greer Avritt.  He was the second child having an older sister, Johnnie Lou Martin (Cleveland, MS), and two younger brothers, Freddie Avritt  (Jo) of Shaw, MS  and Charles Avritt (Ann) of Cleveland, MS. 
Travis lived the first 79 years of his life within a 10 mile radius of where he was born in the Mississippi Delta.  He lived the remainder of his life with his daughter, Sharon A. Sisk, and family in Wake Forest, NC.  Travis loved the MS Delta and missed it tremendously after relocating when his wife of 58 years passed away. 
Travis is survived by his five children, Travis L. Avritt, Jr (Tina) of Munford, AL, David J. Avritt of Huntington Beach, CA, Susan A. Royse (Dave) of Frisco, CO, Sharon A. Sisk (Kevin) of Wake Forest, NC and Anita A. Thomas also of Wake Forest, NC.  He is survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  Travis is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Barbara C. Avritt, and his middle son, Robert G. Avritt.
