Trudie Routh Weeks, devoted wife, cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully met her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2024, at the age of 82. A visitation will be held December 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M. A graveside service will take place at Delta Heights Memorial Gardens after the service.
Trudie was born in Rosedale, MS, to Earl & Leo Routh. Trudie dedicated her life to her family, community, and faith.
A faithful member of Yale Street Baptist Church for over 50 years, Trudie's devotion extended beyond mere attendance; she taught Bible drills for more than 40 years, sharing her love of God’s Word with countless children. She exemplified what it means to be a true follower of Jesus Christ as she served Him faithfully and shared the gospel with everyone she came in contact with. She also taught Sunday School and led several missions’ organizations. She was very generous as she supported numerous Christian ministries worldwide. Her passion for nurturing was evident not only in her faith but also in her love of flowers and gardening.
Trudie worked as a Baxter employee for 35 years where she had the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Yet, the role she treasured most was that of a loving family member. Trudie relished spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Leo Routh; son, Johnny Weeks; sisters, Dot Hester (Austin) and Phyllis Trahan (Alcee); and brother, Benson Dexter (Cornelia).
Trudie is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Charles Weeks; sons, Rick Weeks (Vickey) and Mike Weeks (Tiffany); grandchildren, Jessica Williamson (Lance), Erin Busby (Brooks), Michael Weeks (Sarah Katherine), Matthew Weeks, and Shaun Swenson; great-grandchildren, Tate Williamson, Lydia Williamson, Baker Busby, Lincoln Busby, and John David Weeks. She also leaves behind her brother, Earl "Boone" Routh (Yvonne) and sister, Sara Barnes (Charles). Along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Trudie’s unwavering love and compassion will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who call her their own.
In lieu of flowers donations made be made to Yale Street Baptist Church and The Women’s Resource Center.
