Valrie Mae Blackwood

Valrie Mae Blackwood, 71, of Cleveland, MS went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 4, 2022.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Drew United Methodist Church in Drew, MS.  Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 2:00.  Interment will be at Drew City Cemetery.

Valrie was born June 12, 1951, in Starkville, MS to Roberts and Margaret McReynolds.  She married Robert “Bob” Thurman Blackwood of Drew, MS on July 22, 1974.  Valrie was a math teacher for many years.  She loved to travel.  Most of all, Valrie loved her family especially her grandchildren. 

She is predeceased by her parents, Roberts and Margaret McReynolds; husband, Robert “Bob” Thurman Blackwood; sister, Margaret Chamblin.

Valrie is survived by her daughters, Beverly Blackwood Brown and Jennifer Ann Blackwood; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Seline Rocquin, Hannah Brown, and Hailey Brown; brothers, Bobby McReynolds, David Earl McReynolds, Jimmy McReynolds; sister, Mary Ann Cambell; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
