Vasilou Marie Slavent Ferracci, 83, from Shaw, MS passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014, in Batesville, AR. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home, Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, February 8, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw, MS with Father Tarsisius Pulling officiating. Interment will follow in Shaw Cemetery.
She was born in Monroe, LA on April 19, 1930 to Thomas Anastasia Slavent and
Mary De Stephano Slavent. On November 15, 1949 she married Ned Paul Ferracci in Shaw; they were married 52 years.
Vickie was a beautiful person and very kind to all who came into contact with her. She was always there when someone needed her. She was unselfish and considerate of others, putting others needs before her own. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she valued her time spent with her loved ones. She is greatly loved and will be forever missed.
Vickie is survived by her daughters, Priscilla Massey of Los Angeles, CA; Karen Walker of Indianola, MS; Carmelyn Kanary of Batesville, AR; and Kathleen Dixon of East Stroudsburg, PA; Sons, Ned Paul Ferracci of Elizabeth City, NC; Michael Ferracci of Abingdon, VA; and Tommy Ferracci of Cleveland, MS; sisters, Catherine Jones of Amarillo, TX and Carmelyn Tucker of Monroe, LA; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Ferracci; sons Timothy Ferracci and Johnny Ferracci; and parents, Thomas and Mary Slavent.
Pallbearers will be: Gerry Cummins, Brian Boyette, Robert Tabb, John Hinkle, Chris Coletta, and Tim Sullivan.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
