Viola Servadio Rossetti of Germantown, TN (formerly of Shaw, MS) passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice in Collierville, TN after a short illness. She was born August 23, 1926 in Indianola, MS to Maria and Eugenio Servadio. She was a life-long member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw, MS where she practiced her faith and gave honor to her Lord and Savior. Viola worked for Baxter Laboratories in Cleveland, MS for 38 years before retiring. In Shaw, she and her husband, Joe, enjoyed gardening and playing cards and dominos. They also traveled with the St. Francis Church group, enjoyed cruises, and visited family on the east and west coasts as well as in Italy. Viola was an excellent seamstress and crocheter as her children can attest to all the items they were gifted over the years. After moving from Shaw, she added knitting, wii bowling, and bingo to her list of activities. Viola recently started telling stories of the "olden days" to her family during their visits. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Joe Rossetti; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Rossetti; her parents; her sisters, Thelma Columbus, Carole Badessa, Jenny Tumminello, Amerina Rossetti, and Annie Thorpe; and her brothers, Joseph, Dominic, and Lee Servadio. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Garavelli (Frank) of Barlett, TN; sons, Dr. Ronnie Rossetti and Dr. Donnie Rossetti of New Albany, MS, Gene Rossetti (Millett) of Memphis, TN, and Kenneth Rossetti (Kay) of Oxford, MS; and her sisters, Josie Connolly of Jackson, TN and Fannie Massa of Winthrop, MA. She also leaves nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a plethora of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Shaw, MS with a funeral Mass to follow immediately at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 239, Shaw, MS 38773. The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Germantown Plantation for their friendship, kindness, and care given to Viola during her 10 years at Germantown Plantation.
