Mrs. Visia Louisiana "Ludie" Belk, 85, of Doddsville, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, at North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Edgar McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Linn Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. Belk was born February 4, 1929, to Howard Guest and Polly Mims Guest. On April 19, 1947, she married Barney Hubert "Jackie" Belk in Carrollton, MS. She was employed as a factory worker at Ruleville Manufacturing Company for forty years. She enjoyed working in the yard, and she loved flowers and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Polly Guest; husband, Jackie Belk; children, Howard Belk and Tammie Belk; daughter-in-law, Wanda Belk; brothers, Tommy Guest and Durrell Guest; and sisters, Rena Cunningham and Faye Haughton.
Mrs. Belk is survived by sons, Richard W. "Ricky" Belk (Lisa Neal) of Boyle and Ivan Haughton (Monica) of Indianola; daughters, Janece Handley (Stephen) of Byram and Carolyn Miller (Dennis) of Ocoee, FL; grandchildren, LT. Colonel Brad Austin (Connie), Stephen Handley II (Nell), Eli Belk (Mindy), Felicia Poe (Austin), and Ashlyn Haughton; great-grandchildren, Zach Austin, Leah Austin, Danica Handley, Trey Handley, and Easton Poe; and brother, Billy Guest.
Pallbearers will be Brad Austin, Stephen Handley II, Eli Belk, James Ray Holeman, Jimmy McDaniel, and Billy McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Branning and Rodger Earls.
