Mr. Walter Gary Dye, 59, of Merigold, MS passed away at his home, Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home.
Mr. Dye was born in Duncan, MS on June 20, 1951, to Willie Ray and Ida Kendall Dye. He served his country in the National Guard and worked as a railroad conductor for Illinios Central (CNIC) for 32 years. He married Jackie Lynn Smith March 31, 1984 in Jackson Mississippi. He enjoyed attending antique car shows, stock car races, and working on cars.
He is survived by wife, Jackie Lynn Dye of Merigold, MS; daughters, Rebecca Christine Laster (Chris) of Memphis, TN and Andrea Lauren Dye of Merigold, MS; son, Leslie (Les) Allen Dye (Stacey) of Okinawa, Japan, Michael Adrian Dye (Ashley) of Yazoo City, MS; grandchildren, Maryella Piper Dye, Willow Rivers Dye, Olivia Laster, Cassidy Laster, Ethan James Dye; brothers, Bobby Wayne Dye of Coffeeville, MS, Boyce Kendall (BB) Dye of Boyle, MS, Beverly Durastini of Leland, MS, sisters, Susan Dye Haney of Hernando, MS, and Edna (Ruth) Mitchell of Southaven, MS
Pallbearers will be Guy Haney, Bo Haney, Bailey Usery, Ricky Moody, Tim Tackett, Jimmy Ray, John B. Delahoussaye, Jr., Johnnie Robinson
Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Flowers and Chad Abels.
