Mr. William Allen Kittrell, 71, of Merigold, passed away at his home Sunday, September 2, 2012. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 Monday, September 3, 2012 at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Bley officiating. Interment will follow in Delta Heights Cemetery.
Mr. Kittrell was born February 16, 1941, to John Evan Kittrell and Ida Ussery Kittrell of Doddsville, MS. He was a graduate of Linn High School. On August 19, 1962, he married Mary Kathryn Robb at Drew Baptist Church. He was a loyal member and deacon at Drew Baptist Church and was the past Master, Secretary and current Junior Deacon of Masonic Lodge # 470 in Cleveland, as well as the Senior Warden of Masonic Lodge #459 in Drew. Mr. Kittrell served our country in the Army National Guard and also worked as a machine operator at Baxter Health Care for 35 years. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing and traveling; but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. Kittrell is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Kittrell and a brother in law, Freddy Grant.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Kathryn Robb Kittrell of Merigold; son, William Allen Kittrell, Jr. (Amy McDaniel) of Clinton, MS; daughter, Lisa Morrell Kittrell Meeks (Patrick Keith) of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Trey Bailey of Clarksdale, Jessica Allyn Bailey Smith (Leon) of West Memphis, AR, and Carson Logan Kittrell of Clinton, MS; great-grandchildren, Tristan Jeremiah Pittman, Nickolei Leon Smith, and Daylen Smith all of West Memphis, AR; and siblings, Jimmie Kitrell (Mary Helen) of Cleveland, Kathryn Morgan (Perry) of Drew, Jessie Dean Grant of Ruleville, Frances Sheffield (Allen) of Munford, TN, Cordelia "Snookie" Jones (Gene Paul) of Kenton, TN, and Anna Earls (Ellis) of Cleveland.
Pallbearers will be Warren Griffin, Michael Parker, A. C. Tidmore, Larry Tolliver, Dennis Williams, and Andrew Wilson.
