WC Ray

William C "WC" Ray, age 90, passed away on May 22, 2022. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Indianola Cemetery.

WC was born March 17, 1932 in Choctaw, MS to John Truly Ray and Opal Ray. WC married Walterine Pyron March 21, 1953, in Indianola, MS. He was a Corporal in the United States Army. WC worked as a contractor for many years for Cleveland Lumber Company. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. WC was well respected by his clients and associates. Most of all, he was loved by his family and enjoyed the great grandkids. WC was an avid fisherman and his spare time he loved to fish crappie and bream.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Walterine Ray; parents, John Truly Ray and Opal Ray; son, John Arnold Ray; and sister, Peggy Smith.

WC is survived by his daughter, Judi Taylor (Phillip) of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren, John William Ray (Holly) of Cleveland, MS, Nicole Taylor of Harrisburg, AR, Caitlin Carter (Kipp) of Jonesboro, AR, and Justin Taylor (Chelsea) of Jonesboro, AR; great-grandchildren, Braxton Barton, Bentley Carter, Taylen Ray Carter, Brantley Wilson, Paisley Wilson, and Mason Taylor.
